Road Privatization

In the attached article, the Village of Long Grove could be starting a new trend for City government whereby the maintenance, replacement and snow removal on public roadways gets turned over to the associations or communities within their city limits.  The upkeep of these roads is currently being paid by tax dollars, but Long Grove could pass this financial responsibility back to the community members.  If that happens, homeowner and community associations will need to be financially prepared to take on this burden.  If your community currently has streets maintained by your city, stay tuned in to what they are doing as they plan their budgets each year.
